The Name Game: How they got their names

Kai Kaine
Kaine came first , a reference to the first son of Adam & Eve. I wanted a KK nickname and Kai was perfect for the Asian reference for his thin eyes.

Dr. Bjorn "Bear" Adalward
Bjorn means Bear in Norwegian based on his physical appearance and teddy bear demeanor. Adalward means protector, which is his job with KK.

Beau Laughed
Again last name came first. I had that name years earlier. Without it, the story couldn't happen.
I was watching the Waltons and Aaron had a Beau - meaning boy friend. This personified the bromance with KK.

Alize Laughed
Named after an extremely kind, classy, and thoughtful French tennis pro Alize Cornet

Celeste Kaine
Again the Biblical reference with Kaine and Celeste is based from the French word meaning Heavenly. An early signal
of who she is.

Simon Laughed
As is his wife, he too was named after a French tennis pro, Giles Simon. I didn't use Giles because it would be terribly mispronounced

Blade Basstian
Blade referenced a knife blade, but Basstian refered to the fish reference of Christ. Blade never understood why he was the bad guy. The court scene was his pleading to God he was the victim, just like Jesus.

Goat Bastian
Bjorn means Bear in Norwegian based on his physical appearance and teddy bear demeanor. Adalward means protector, which is his job with KK.

Lance Zalmon
Zalmon is Russian for Shadow. He was the leader of the Shadows, but outside of being valedictorian, he lived in the background of school and home. Lance referred to the warrior Sir Lancealot.

Swami Ganesh Das
Named after an extremely kind, classy, and thoughtful French tennis pro Alize Cornet

Emily Featherling
Emily's name has two meanings. First it's a nod to Charles Dickens - it sounds like a Dickens name. Second, her impact on the boys was strong, but it faded very quickly and ultimately her meaning was quite light - featherish.

Karry Joan Taylor
Reference to someone I once knew with the same lack of personal values or value.
